Rare Antique Early 19th Century French Gothic Revival Stained Glass Roundel Panel - Medieval Style Diaper Pattern
Rare 19th-century French Gothic Revival Stained Glass Roundel Panel.
Hand-crafted during the height of the Medieval Revival movement, this piece features the striking, intensely saturated palette favored by 19th-century artisans to replicate early medieval cathedrals.
The layout showcases a sophisticated repeating diaper pattern with deep red quadrilaterals, each adorned with a stylized black cross-flory motif.
Rich cobalt blue borders frame the geometric sections. Each intersection is highlighted by a traditional amber-gold circular rosette, a design that beautifully captures incoming natural light.
The top edge features a unique, curved architectural cutout, indicating it may have been salvaged from an arched or circular window framework.
It is a perfect addition for historic glass collectors, or as a standalone window hanging to display in bright sunlight.
