Large French Art Deco White Opaline Glass Bonbonniere Lidded Candy Dish Jar 1930s
A magnificent French opaline glass bonbonnière. Dating from the Art Deco era (circa 1920s–1940s), this substantial centerpiece jar showcases a clean, minimalist silhouette perfectly suited for both modern and traditional interiors.
Unlike common machine-made milk glass, true French opaline possesses an ethereal, semi-translucent quality. When held to the light, beautiful smoky swirl patterns and cloudy density waves reveal themselves within the glass formulation.
This large vessel is entirely hand-finished with fire-polished rims, leaving a completely seamless, smooth surface. It features a heavy, squat bulbous body paired with a dome-shaped lid topped by a rounded finial.
It is ideal for use as a luxury tabletop centerpiece, biscuit barrel, candy box, or an upscale vanity storage accent.
Excellent vintage condition. The glass retains its bright, glossy shine with no cracks, or deep scratches. There is a very tiny 'fleabite' to the edge of the interior rim. Please view the photos for full visual condition.
Beautiful fire-polished smooth finish.
