A genuine piece of World War I naval history with this rare commemorative souvenir barrel, turned from original teak wood salvaged from the legendary battleship HMS Iron Duke.
As the flagship of Admiral John Jellicoe, Commander of the British Grand Fleet, HMS Iron Duke famously led the historic fleet into the Battle of Jutland on May 31, 1916—the largest naval clash of the First World War.
This beautifully preserved piece of maritime treen features its original, inset brass presentation plaque reading:
"From the teak of HMS Iron Duke, Admiral Jellicoe's Flag Ship, Jutland 1916."
Originally used on Edwardian writing desks as a match holder (vesta) or inkwell base, it makes an exceptional addition to any military archive, naval collection, or history enthusiast's display.
