Rare Antique Edwardian Chinoserie Black & Gilt Japanned Rectangular Wall Mirror

A lovely manageable sized chinoiserie wall mirror, a classic example of European decorative arts from the late 19th to early 20th century. It features a rectangular frame with a black lacquered finish, a technique often called "japanning" used to imitate East Asian lacquerwork.
The frame has hand-painted and applied decorative motifs, birds and figures in gilt and coloured reliefs with the expected gentle signs of age.
Very good original condition with its original clear thick mirror plate displaying visible some foxing.
