A striking vintage art glass bowl with an unusual three-legged tripod form and richly coloured confetti-style decoration.
The bowl is made in clear golden-amber glass, incorporating numerous irregular pieces of coloured glass in orange, yellow, red, burgundy, white and dark tones. The decoration is particularly attractive when viewed from above, where the individual coloured inclusions can be seen suspended throughout the glass.
The bowl has three individually formed glass legs, each with a distinctive fluted foot, giving it an appealing sculptural quality. The combination of the unusual form, warm colouring and lively embedded decoration is strongly reminiscent of Italian/Murano-style art glass.
The glass contains small bubbles and other variations consistent with its handmade character. No maker's mark is present, so I have not attributed it to a specific glassmaker.
Measurements: 11.4 cm diameter x 9.8 cm tall
Weight: 135 g
Condition: Good vintage condition overall. There is one very small chip to the underside of the rim, clearly shown in the final photograph. Otherwise no significant damage noted.
A highly decorative and unusual piece of vintage art glass, with plenty of visual character.
