Vintage 1970s Isle of Wight Tortoiseshell Glass Bowl Signed Flame Mark Michael Harris 9cm
Add a stunning piece of mid-century British art glass to your collection with this authentic Isle of Wight Studio Glass bowl.
Designed by the legendary Michael Harris in the mid-1970s, this piece is from the highly sought-after Tortoiseshell range.
The bowl features a beautiful casing of multi-layered amber, rich brown, and vibrant orange glass trails pulled through the walls to mimic natural tortoiseshell.
True to Harris's signature style, the thick clear crystal houses tiny, controlled air bubbles that brilliantly capture and reflect the light.
The underside reveals a beautifully ground flat outer rim surrounding a deeply indented central well. Inside the well sits the highly collectible, authentic early left-leaning stamped "Flame" pontil mark, which firmly dates this hand-blown vessel to the 1974–1979 production period.
Diameter: 9cm
Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or fleabites.
The glass remains beautifully clear and glossy with minimal age-related shelf wear on the base ring.
A perfect, tactile cabinet piece or a standout addition for any collector of Isle of Wight Studio Glass or 20th-century British studio design!
