Finished with a broad electroplated metal collar, showing some age-related wear to the plating.

The finely threaded glass is characteristic of the late Victorian Stourbridge tradition, with Stevens & Williams being the probable maker of this type of threaded body. The exact original purpose of this unusual two-handled form is uncertain, so I have described it simply as a vessel rather than assigning a specific function.

Measurements: 18.3cm high x 16cm wide across the handles.
Weight: 925g.

Good overall antique condition, with minor age-related marks. There is wear and a number of small chips/nibbles to the fine threading, particularly in places around the body, as shown in the photographs. The electroplated collar also has areas of age-related wear and thinning. No major cracks or significant damage noted.

A particularly handsome and unusual example of late Victorian threaded glass, with its impressive weight, fine workmanship and distinctive twin-handled form.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0938/4552/0717/files/rn-image_picker_lib_temp_ffec3d65-9fa7-4a65-8943-049c1ffde64b.jpg?v=1790509195
https://thewonderroom.co/products/antique-victorian-stevens-williams-threaded-glass-twin-handled-vessel-c-1900
